The tricks are listed here in a progression from easiest to hardest. If you are just learning, you should start at the top of the list and work your way towards the bottom.
How to practice skateboard tricks
Any time you try a trick for the first time, it's going to be a little bit scary . If you feel that collection of butterflies in the pit of your stomach, that's perfectly normal. The best way to start is with a trick that's only slightly ahead of your current skating level. For example, first you learn simply how to stand on the skateboard. Then you learn to shuffle your feet forward and back a bit, getting comfortable shifting your weight on the board. The next step is probably learning to turn the board, both by shifting yoru weight without moving your feet, and also by pivoting your board...keeping your back foot on the tail, and slightly lifting the front foot as you rotate yoru shoulders one way or the other to pivot the board a bit at a time. Once you feel comfortable with these small pivots, you can move on to larger sweeps. These types of turns are initiated in the shoulders and followed by the hips and then the feet.. First practice spinning 180 degrees (to face the opposite whay that you started), and then you can even try doing 360 degrees.
I would consider this the basics of learning how to skateboard.
Got that down? Great! Now we can move on to the skateboard tricks!
